Fran.K Designs Earring Holder

Good Morning Ladies :)
I arrived home this morning to a wonderful surprise - my mum's friend had left a gift for me - this beautiful earring holder that she had handmade:

OUTSIDE

INSIDE

As you can see from the photos, it opens up like a book, and stands up by itself. It's also an easy way to transport your earrings because it folds back over and keeps them all safe!! And the best news? They're for sale!! I think they're around €15 each, but I'm not positive! You can get them in a variety of colours and patterns too :)

If you're interested in purchasing one, or if you would like to enquire about prices, shipping etc then you can drop me an email: susanltinsley@gmail.com or you can email the seller herself: abstractfran1@gmail.com

My First (EVER) OPI Haul

One of my friends' mother owns a hair salon, and today we went to pick up some shampoo for her at the salon supply outlet. We were browsing around afterwards and I noticed the OPI collection - 1/3 of the regular price!!

I picked up three regular polishes (L-R: Mrs. O'Leary's BBQ, Sand In My Suit, You Don't Know Jaques)

I also picked up the last Alice in Wonderland Box Set in the entire outlet (L-R: Absolutely Alice, Thanks So Muchness, Off With Her Red, Mad As A Hatter)

I am so so happy with my purchases - I got them all for €28... what a bargain?! Each individual polish retails normally at about €13 in Ireland!!!

Hope you enjoyed this short and sweet post
Take care :) xx

Tag, You're It!!

What is your current obsession?
I've been a bit sick of late so sadly my obsessions are strepsils and sleep!!

What is your weirdest obsession?
Last night I took out my old box of Pokemon cards... I collected them as a child and that has to be the weirdest obsession I've ever had. I was a bit of a nerd!!

What are you wearing today?
I've been in bed all day, sleeping and attempting to write an essay, so I've had my pjs and a hoodie on all day :)

What's your favourite comfort food?
I'm gonna cheat here and say 7Up... technically it's a drink, but it's my favourite thing when I'm sick. I love it.

What would make today special?
If the sun came out... I love sunshine. It always makes me feel happy.

What would you like to learn to do?
I really want to learn how to water ski - but I doubt I'll ever be brave enough. Also, next week I'm starting training for a marathon with my cousin, so I'd like to be able to do that!!

What's the last thing you bought?
I bought a bottle of 7Up and some Strepsils today... but I haven't had the time or the money to do much shopping lately.

What are you listening to right now?
Me and my brother are watching Two and a Half Men right now... I love this show so much!!

What is your favourite weather?
Sunny and hot... which doesn't happen often in Ireland, unfortunately.

What is your most challenging goal right now?
I have my finals in three weeks... so definitely passing those!!

If you could have a house totally paid for, and fully furnished, anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
I would either like a house in Provence region in Southern France or on the beach in the Bahamas please.

What would you like to have in your hands right now?
A cup of tea... I'm too lazy to get up and make one...

If you could swap lives with anyone just for a day, who would you choose and why?
I would either have to say Frankie Sandford or Cheryl Cole because they are absolutely stunning!!

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour where would you go?
I would go to London... two of my best friends moved there in September and I barely get to see them anymore :(

What language do you want to learn?
Well I already speak English (duh), Irish, French and a bit of Spanish... I would like to improve my Spanish a lot, but if I had to chose another language from scratch it would be Polish because one of my best friends is Polish and I'd love to be able to chat with her in her native tongue for once.

What do you look for in a friend?
Someone genuine, sweet and dependable who can make me pee myself laughing but who can also be a shoulder to cry on. Also, I tend to prefer people that aren't constantly surrounded by drama and bitching.

Who would you love to meet in person?
I would have loved to meet Princess Diana... she was my childhood hero. I would also love to meet Alex Zane, Cheryl Cole, Robert Pattinson (I'm a bit of a Twilight dork), and Stephen Fry.

What's your favourite type of music?
I will listen to almost anything... my friends would describe my tastes as "obscure" and "alternative" but I also like pop music, like Lady Gaga, for a night out!!

If you had €100, what would you do with it?
I would definitely blow it on pointless crap like more makeup or Lush goodies!!!!

Fashion pet peeve?
Crocs!!

Do you admire anyone's style?
Jennifer Aniston, Cheryl Cole (now, not before!!), Nicole Richie

What's your favourite ice-cream flavour?
Either strawberry or banana... or both :)

Review: Bourjois Mineral Matte Foundation

I've been a bit MIA of late and I'm sorry - My finals are starting in three weeks and I have a mountain of work to get done before then. I will try to update this as much as possible, but it's very hard to find the time. I think I need to watch a little less TV and do a little more blogging!!

On that note... on with the review. I bought this foundation a few weeks ago and blogged about that here. At the time, a close friend had recommended it, so I splurged!! I have been using it since then, and I have mixed emotions about it.

My first problem is the smell - it's not very over whelming, but I don't like makeup to smell at all because it reminds me of chemicals and unhealthy things!! I really think that's something that Bourjois need to work on.

Another problem I have is with the little brush. It appears to be easy to use, and it's soft and cute as hell... but it's really awkward to clean. It's difficult to get it brand spankingly clean, without having the water drip into the barrel, and it will eventually start shedding. However, for right now, it doesn't shed at all (Mac Cosmetics, take note!!)

I found the consistency of this foundation really nice... it's creamy and goes on (and blends) really easily. The coverage this provides on a scale of 1 to 10 is about 37. It's insanely good, but I think it's a bit too heavy on me, because I don't really suffer from bad skin, I just have a bit of an uneven skin tone. The first few times that I tried to set it with a loose powder, it got a bit cakey... but I seem to have figured that problem out.
All in all, I do think it is a pretty good foundation, and it's probably gonna last me a long time (you need very little product to cover your entire face) but I don't think it's worth the €18. For that reason alone, I doubt I'll be repurchasing it... but I will keep using it until it runs out.

Rating: 6.5/10 (loses marks for the price, the smell and the brush)

Hope you enjoyed this review. I swear, the contest is coming soon - I'm gathering up some prizes at the moment!!
